SMSC at English International School – Baghdad

Nurturing confident, responsible, and culturally aware individuals

At the English International School – Baghdad, we nurture students to be confident, responsible, and culturally aware. Our curriculum and activities promote Spiritual, Moral, Social, and Cultural (SMSC) development through lessons, projects, and student-led initiatives.

By embedding SMSC into learning and school life, we ensure our pupils grow into thoughtful, respectful, and globally minded individuals, ready to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
S Spiritual & Moral
Pupils explore values, beliefs, and ethical questions in Global Citizenship, Religious Education, and IPC/IMYC, learning to distinguish right from wrong and act responsibly.
S Social
Through teamwork, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, community action projects, and leadership roles, students develop communication, empathy, and confidence.
C Cultural
We celebrate local and international cultural days, teaching pupils to value diversity and respect different traditions.
