At the English International School – Baghdad, we believe that open communication and collaboration between the school and parents are essential for fostering a supportive environment that promotes student success. To keep you informed about your child’s progress, we provide regular updates and opportunities for meaningful engagement throughout the academic year.
Formal Reports
We issue formal reports approximately every 6 weeks, at the end of each assessment period. These reports are comprehensive and provide detailed insights into your child’s attendance, academic attainment, and personal development. These reports are aligned with our half-term and end-of-term reporting periods, ensuring that you are consistently updated on your child’s progress and achievements.
Orientation
At the beginning of each academic year in September, we hold an Orientation session for parents. This is an excellent opportunity to get to know the school better. Parents will be given a tour of the campus, introduced to school leaders and teachers, and have the chance to explore classrooms and resources. It’s a great way to start the school year and connect with the community.
Term 1 Parent-Teacher Meeting (January)
In January, we host the Term 1 Parent-Teacher Meeting, where parents have the opportunity to meet with teachers and discuss the Term 1 report. This meeting allows for valuable feedback on academic progress, as well as any insights into your child’s personal development and social integration. It’s a great time to discuss any concerns or questions about your child’s learning journey.
Term 2 Parent-Teacher Meeting (April)
The Term 2 Parent-Teacher Meeting takes place in April. During this meeting, parents can review the Term 2 report, receive updates on their child’s progress, and listen to teacher recommendations for continued improvement. We also encourage parents to discuss any areas of focus for the remainder of the year, ensuring that your child is set up for success in the final term.
Scheduled Meetings
In addition to the scheduled meetings, parents are always welcome to schedule individual meetings with teachers throughout the year. If you have any concerns related to your child’s academic performance, behaviour, or social development, or if you simply need clarification on any aspect of their progress, please don’t hesitate to contact the school. We are here to support you and ensure that every student’s needs are met.
We value the partnership between home and school and encourage open lines of communication to support your child’s growth and development throughout the academic year. Your active involvement is essential to your child’s success, and we look forward to working together to ensure a positive and enriching experience for all students at EISB.
